Save and restore layouts
DeskRecall remembers the position, size and state of application windows for different monitor configurations. Named profiles can be duplicated, imported and exported locally.
Docking and monitor changes
When docking or undocking, DeskRecall detects the new display configuration and can apply an existing matching profile. It does not transfer the previous workspace layout to an unknown configuration.
Automation under your control
Automatic saving and restoration can be controlled separately. Exclude applications, protect individual positions and manage uniquely identifiable child windows separately.
Local to your PC
Profiles and settings remain on your Windows computer. The portable pilot build uses no network services. There are no user accounts, cloud synchronisation or telemetry. The prepared Store build uses Microsoft Store licensing.
Traceable changes
Local backups and profile history help restore earlier states. Window diagnostics assist with applications whose main and child windows cannot be identified reliably.
Development status
Version 0.9.0 is available in the project as a portable Windows x64 pilot build, including the required .NET runtime. Designed for Windows 10 and Windows 11; Microsoft Store publication is still being prepared.
Diagnostics under your control
Errors and hangs are logged locally. Detailed diagnostics can be enabled for 30 minutes. A sanitised support ZIP can be exported deliberately; nothing is uploaded automatically.
