Data processed by the add-in
The Office.js add-in for classic Outlook on Windows stores notes, waiting-for-reply status, follow-up dates, modification timestamps, subject lines and Outlook item IDs in local WebView storage. A locally generated message identifier links notes to emails. The language preference is also stored locally. Search and overview functions run locally.
The sender and email date may be processed to display the open message, but are not saved in the note record. The add-in does not process or store message bodies or attachments. Notes are not written into the email or to Exchange.
No app cloud or analytics
The add-in has no account, backend or cloud database of its own, advertising or usage analytics. Its interface and bundled resources are served locally over HTTPS. Its own code does not transmit note data to Karré IT Consulting or external destinations. Office.js is bundled locally and its telemetry is technically disabled where the add-in can control it.
This statement applies to the add-in, not to Outlook, Windows, Exchange or Microsoft 365. These products may communicate independently with their providers or mail servers. Installation and registration may also require separate connections.
Retention, protection and deletion
Data remains in local WebView storage until you delete it or that storage is cleared. No automatic retention period is implemented. Use “Delete note” to remove an entry. Clearing only the text may leave an entry if a waiting-for-reply status or follow-up date remains. Clearing the corresponding WebView storage removes its data and settings and may also cause accidental data loss.
The add-in does not provide additional application-level encryption of note data. Protection relies on the Windows user profile and isolation of the local WebView origin. We cannot access these local records. In a business deployment, the organisation using the software determines purposes, legal basis and retention. Local storage is necessary for the note functionality you expressly request.
